This
course is open to students who have completed Shakespeare I.
Shakespeare
II builds on the Shakespeare I workshop, introducing students to
scene study. The emphasis in this class will include
character breakdown, character development, listening skills, and
learning how to work with scenes involving two or more
characters. Students will learn skills that will help them to
make character choices based on information found in the script,
taking into account the language of their character, and how that
character uses language.
Students will learn how to break down a scene, and how to communicate
a real sense of character in a short space of time. Students
will be encouraged to discover and play with physical aspects of
their characters, and to explore creating circumstances and
background based on and in the script.
Students
may showcase their scenes at the end of the course.
