An actor is only as good as his toolbox, the bigger the box with more tools, the better the actor; this is what Open Approach Acting seeks to achieve. Through intensive work on movement, voice, character-building, stage-craft and text-work (both verse and prose),the OAA will add a new tool to each actor's box every week, giving them the opportunity to explore various methods and find the ones that suit them best. Working from a basis of building on what each individual brings to the stage, this 12 week training course seeks to identify the actors. Strengths and weaknesses along with their personal methods of working with characters, text and equip them with all they need to best advance their skills and talents.
Open Approach Acting will be a series of 3-hour sessions to better allow individual work and attention to detail as well as creating an atmosphere where ensemble work is paramount. *A preliminary class will be held to determine the placement of students based on chemistry and ability.
